I'll end this series of book posts on two picture books my daughter and I have loved this year. Kevin Henkes is the author of great pictue books and chapter books for young readers, but he has recently been producing some fantastic work for the youngest set. Kitten's First Full Moon and now this prectically perfect A Good Day.
Penguin is one we picked up in the library and will have to buy when it's time to return. It's a silly magical story of a boy who get a stuffed penguin that doesn't talk. It seems like a funny and realistic story of a child's frustration until some funny fantastical and surprising things happen. Cracks us both up every time.
