I actually missed the first day of school this year. The last day is just as cool. We can all celebrate our successes, clean out our desks and get ready for the renewal of a new year. The whole staff goes out to wave goodbye to the departing buses in the afternoon, then high fives each other for a job well done.
We still have some teacher workdays, but the last day with kids is a bigger deal for teachers than New Year's Eve. This is the day we look back on the year and tally up the ups and downs and make resolutions for the next year. I rocked this year.
My next year's resolution: to rock even harder!
