First Day of School

I blogged about the first day of school last year and it has been one of my more popular posts for some reason.

This year I'm here and happy to be doing morning bus duty again. My daughter is going to her first day of Kindergarten and I'm dying to know how it's going. She's been so excited and has seen her classroom, met her teacher and seemingly couldn't wait. After breakfast I took her outside to take pictures of her in her dress and new backpack. She smiled and waved. Then she ran inside and threw up.

I coaxed her back outside as soon as I could because some friend had put balloons and a poster on our mailbox with a big sign reading "New Kindergartner!" with candies taped to the posterboard. It was the same kind of treatment graduating seniors get around here and her eyes lit up.

I let her have some smarties to freshen her breath. Breakfast of champions.

So while I'll be here helping our new Kindergartners off the bus and to their new classes with all the trust bestowed upon me that I wrote about before, my mind will constantly be going to my own precious daughter and wondering how she's doing.

How do parents do it every day?
