All the Thanksgiving-related books are checked out in my little elementary library and hello, I need something to read as well next week!  So I went looking for books with the theme of (non-religious)  thankfulness or at least someone being thankful for something in the end.  Here's the list in case you were wondering:

Mouse Soup - Lobel
Where the Wild Things Are - Sendak
Sylvester and the Magic Pebble - Steig
A Chair for My Mother - Williams
Hey, Al - Yorinks
Boxes for Katje - Fleming
My Life in Dog Years - Paulsen (I like to read the opening chapter on Cookie)
These Hands - Price
Lion & Mouse -Pinkney
Thank You, Mr. Falker - Polacco

You're welcome.

Can you think of others?  Add them in the comments.
