The Biblioburro

Ok, this is amazing and be sure to remind me of it often if I ever complain about anything when I become a school librarian.  I may face budget cuts but doubt I'll face bandits, leg-breaking falls or paramilitary groups!

It's a slideshow of a school teacher in Colombia who travels around to remote villages with two donkeys and 4,800 books.  There is also an accompanying article.

"The idea came to him, he said, after he witnessed as a young teacher the transformative power of reading among his pupils, who were born into conflict even more intense than when he was a child."
